Driver Logs, an optional feature of Trimble GeoManager iLM, helps transportation and distribution companies comply with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements regarding Hours of Service (HOS) regulations† and vehicle use. Driver Logs allows managers to check drivers' HOS and other daily driver activities. It also tracks and displays HOS, flags DOT violations and allows printing of a driver's daily log.

Driver Logs creates daily driver logs from the duty status information that drivers enter into the iDT, an in-vehicle messaging device installed in vehicles within convenient reach of drivers.

Using Driver Logs reduces the amount of work and errors that handwritten logs take as well as the fees for DOT violations.

† Because the specific regulations that apply to your firm can change, Trimble recommends that you periodically verify current legislation at www.fmcsa.dot.gov.

Automate Duty Status Recording

Using Auto Logs, an optional feature to Driver Logs, the iDT automatically alerts the driver when the vehicle goes from a stopped position (On Duty Status) to moving (Driving Status). At this point the driver may approve, cancel or change the automatic status, but if no action is taken within two minutes of the message alert, the new duty status is submitted.
