Seamlessly integrate a digital camera into your field data collection workflow
Digital photos are increasingly being used to record the details of infrastructure assets and incidents while collecting information in the field. In fact, photographs are often required documentation as part of government or industry regulations, or as proof of contract completion. Adding photos as part of the field workflow can save time, minimize future site visits, and support analysis and decision making both in the field and back in the office. Comprised of an Eye-Fi Pro card and the TrimPix Pro software, the TrimPix Pro system is compact and cost-effective. Use the TrimPix Pro Configuration Center software, which is installed on your desktop computer, to configure the Eye-Fi Pro card and deploy the TrimPix Pro software onto multiple Trimble handhelds. Then simply take a photo with your digital camera and it is wirelessly transferred to your handheld. With the TrimPix Pro system, any brand and specification of camera can be used for desired zoom, resolution and image quality, as long as it supports an SDHC card. This flexibility allows you to match the right camera to different types of field work. A key feature of the TrimPix Pro system is that photos are transferred from the camera to the handheld immediately after they are taken, allowing you to confirm that the image is linked properly and the quality is acceptable before moving to the next field asset. This real-time access minimizes the effort spent in the field capturing multiple images and eliminates the back-office work previously required to process the images in bulk. The result is a much more streamlined workflow that can save a significant amount of time and effort for every field worker. When used with Trimble's TerraSync™ software, the TrimPix Pro system automatically transfers photos to be used as additional attributes to any geographic feature, simply by taking and selecting photos as part of the TerraSync data collection process.
